GMC Dealership Gets its Green On
In Oakland County, MI construction is underway on a $15M green car dealership. The LaFontaine family is constructing this GM branded dealership which will feature $2 million dollars in ecological improvements. The 63,000 foot building will have many earth friendly features including a geothermal heating / cooling system,waterless urinals and solar panels.

The on site car wash is capable of recycling 85% of its water. Other earth friendly features include exterior masonry which is composed of 50 recycled materials and doors consisting of a wheat based agrifiber. General Manager Ryan LaFontaine says “”Ultimately we hope to create a more pleasant experience for our customers, a more productive workplace for our employees and a healthier environment for all,”. The dealership plans on opening the doors of its new facility by early June.
