The 2011 Chevy Silverado is on its way to beat Ford’s F-150 and become the #1 Pickup Truck in America. It’s also on its way to be GMC’s 2011 Sierra. Chevy’s Silverado Heavy Duty includes triple rated springs and an insane 20,000lb towing capacity thanks to the Duramax diesel. Wow, so get ready GMC fans to tow a boat, cattle, another pickup…pretty much anything you can think of.

The Silverado “HD” (which doesn’t stand for high definition) and future Sierra includes a 92% stiffer frame, and a sub-frame that is 125% stiffer then previous years. Sierra/Silverado has a 36 gallon fuel tank and a range of 680 miles, leaving around 18.8 MPG on the highway – an 11% improvement over the current truck. Rear suspension has been upgraded, giving more spring behind the axle. It reportedly has between 3000 – 4000 lbs greater (of a towing cap. that is) then Ford’s F-150, 250 & 350 models.

But GM’s mighty truck also has style: “…chrome on the front bumper, a slightly revised hood and “Duramax” hood badge, the end of 16″ wheels at the bottom in favor or 17-inchers and the addition of 20″ wheels at the top. It also gets hydraulic cabin mounts in the back…” Though pickup drivers are not really interested in looking too flashy.

Expect to drop around $20,000 – 28,000 on an all new 2011 Chevy Silverado / GMC Sierra before taxes and expenses.

The 2011 GMC Acadia Denali is…wait, they went and made a Denali variant of the GMC Acadia Crossover? Yeah, they sure did. Touted as a possible flag ship for the “core brand” GMC (one of four left over after The Wrath of General Motors) Acadia, formerly Yukon Denali, has kept a steady sales pace over the years of growing disdain towards SUV.

With 2011 coming up fast GMC had to step up with an all new Acadia Denali; contrary to our first reaction of “really guys?!” it’s pretty fancy looking. So what makes 2011’s Acadia Denali-worthy? Pricing for one, materials too. SLT-2 models start at $38,490 in FWD form and $40,490 for “off-road.” Who is really going off-roading in an Acadia? There’s a lot of faux-wood, leather and 20″ rims on both versions oh and that nice “Denali” badge. Acadia is not all might – there’s still an EPA estimated 24 MPG on this puppy.

Don’t worry fellas – there’s still brawn in Denali – “Acadia Denali is powered by a 3.6L direct injection V-6 engine with VVT that optimizes performance and fuel economy, while also reducing emissions – including a 25-percent reduction in cold-start emissions. Engine performance is enhanced by the advanced six-speed automatic transmission. The maximum towing capacity is a class-leading 5,200 pounds (2,364 kg).”

Press Release: ” DETROIT – Today GMC unveiled the 2011 Acadia Denali in Detroit. The first Denali was launched in 1999 on the Yukon brand and helped define the luxury SUV segment. With nearly half of all Yukon sales being Denali models, expanding the Denali line to include the Acadia was a logical extension. Acadia Denali will provide GMC customers with all the amenities the Denali is known for in a fuel-efficient crossover.

    “The GMC Denali models have come to stand for luxury and exclusivity, and that’s just what customers will get in the new Acadia Denali,” said Lisa Hutchinson, GMC product marketing director. “The decision to develop an Acadia Denali was made quickly within the new GM in response to customer and dealer demand for a Denali version ever since the launch and success of the Acadia.”

    The Acadia launched in 2007 as the first crossover from GMC, with segment-leading fuel economy and innovative features. An exclusive SmartSlide System allows easy access to an adult-sized third row with available seven- or eight- passenger seating configurations. Fold-flat second- and third-row seats allow flexible passenger and cargo configurations of the best-in-class interior space. Acadia’s refined styling, impressive fuel efficiency, and confidence-inspiring safety features made it an immediate success and ideal platform to build upon for a Denali model.

    The 2011 Acadia Denali goes on sale in the third quarter of 2010. It is available in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive models, as well as seven- and eight-passenger configurations. The standard 3.6L direct injected V-6 contributes to an EPA highway rating of 24 mpg with FWD models.

    The Acadia Denali will stand out with its signature Denali design cues highlighted by the mono-color exterior and chrome honeycomb grille, a feature on all GMC Denali models. It also wears a number of specific exterior design cues, including:

    * Unique lower front and rear fascias
* High-intensity discharge headlamps
* Body-color lower cladding and rocker moldings
* Body-color rear fascia and fender flares
* Unique body-side moldings with chrome accents and Denali badges
* Dual chrome exhaust tips

    Further distinction comes with 20-inch, two-tone chrome-clad wheels. The six-spoke wheels feature black chrome spoke inserts set against bright chrome.

    The Acadia Denali is offered in five exterior colors: Quicksilver Metallic, Summit White, Carbon Black, Red Jewel Tintcoat and White Diamond Tricoat.

    Luxury amenities

    Acadia Denali delivers all the luxury and refinement that are hallmarks of the Denali line. It includes a number of exclusive design, comfort and convenience features including:

    * Premium acoustics – laminated glass, triple door seals, and liquid applied sound deadeners
* Perforated leather seats with matching leather door panel trim
* Heated and cooled driver and passenger seats
* Leather-wrapped steering wheel with mahogany wood inserts
* Complementary wood grain finish on the instrument panel and center stack
* Enhanced accent lighting in the footwells
* Chrome, lighted sill plates with the Denali logo
* Dual SkyScape sunroof system, with sliding front sunroof and fixed rear section
* Head-up display (HUD)

    Additional content includes:

    * Tri-zone automatic climate control
* Navigation system including XM NavTraffic (available)
* Bluetooth connectivity
* OnStar
* Rear-seat DVD entertainment system, with roof-mounted flip-down screen (available)
* Premium audio system with USB port and Bose 10-speaker sound system
* XM Satellite Radio
* Rearview camera system
* Eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory
* Remote vehicle start

    GMC capability

    Acadia Denali is powered by a 3.6L direct injection V-6 engine with VVT that optimizes performance and fuel economy, while also reducing emissions – including a 25-percent reduction in cold-start emissions. Engine performance is enhanced by the advanced six-speed automatic transmission. The maximum towing capacity is a class-leading 5,200 pounds (2,364 kg).

    A long, 118.9-inch (3,021 mm) wheelbase and wide 67.28-inch (1,709 mm) front/rear tracks give it a lower center of gravity and enable smooth, stable ride and handling for driving comfort. Independent front and rear suspensions enhance smoothness and deliver a more responsive driving experience. The front suspension features a MacPherson strut design, with a direct-acting stabilizer bar and aluminum knuckles, while the rear suspension uses a compact, state-of-the-art linked “H” design. Isolated mounting points help reduce noise and vibration.

    The suspension is tuned specifically for the Acadia Denali’s 20-inch wheels and the available AWD system enhances dry-road handling and provides increased traction on wet, snow and ice-covered roads. Four-wheel disc brakes with ABS are standard, as are the following features:

    * StabiliTrak electronic stability control system with rollover mitigation technology
* Traction control system
* Tire pressure monitoring system

    Acadia Denali is covered by GM’s five-year/100,000-mile Powertrain Warranty and three-year/36,000-mile Bumper-to-Bumper warranty – the best coverage in America.”

The 2010 GMC Terrain has been awarded a top notch for one of the safest rides in its class for 2009. Along with its sister can the Chevy Equinox, Terrain not only features a comfortable interior but several (powerful) engine options. A new, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with direct injection delivers highway fuel economy of 30 mpg. Fuel economy is achieved in part with an ECO mode that is activated via a console-mounted button. When engaged, it lowers the torque converter lockup speed to 1,125 rpm to help save fuel on models equipped with the motor.
[nggallery id=2]

There is also a 3.0-liter DOHC direct injected V-6 engine delivering an estimated 264 horse power. Both engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Terrain’s rack-mounted electric power steering system provides greater fuel efficiency on four-cylinder-equipped models, saving nearly 11 miles per tank of gas. The Terrain rides on a 112.5-inch (2,857 mm) wheelbase and features a four-wheel independent suspension system, with wide front and rear tracks that promise to offer comfort and solid handling.

GMC Terrain is produced at the CAMI assembly facility in Ingersoll, Ontario with pricing starting in the low $20,000 range. (via LeftLaneNews)

The GMC Canyon enters its 2009 production year with a 5.3 liter, 300 horse power V8 engine under the hood. Available in both regular and extended cab models (varying in prices of $15,000 to $24,000) this Chevy rebrand also comes in 2-and-4 wheel drive varieties. Estimated MPG also range from 18 city to 24 highway.

2009 GMC Canyon

According to GM – Maximum towing capacities are 4,000 lbs for the Regular Cab, and 5,500 lbs for the Extended and Crew Cabs, while the beds of the Regular Cab 4WD, Extended Cab 2WD and Crew Cab 2WD models can carry the maximum payloads of 1,535, 1,532 and 1,316 lbs, respectively.

2009 GMC Canyon Interior

That puts 2009’s Canyon in a bracket many smaller pickups cannot compete with. Sadly, one thing the Canyon is lacking is style – one of its own. As it is a rebranded Chevrolet, many buyers and fleets will opt for the Chevy logo over GMC – this may be part of the reason why sales have been decent at best for this work horse. Another would undoubtedly be last year’s sky rocketing fuel prices. With gas coming down under $2 a gallon, and it’s towing strength along with good gas mileage, perhaps 2009 will be the year of the Canyon.

And even those smaller Sport Utility Trucks are going hybrid. So when rumors of GMC ending the short run of their Acadia some were so surprised. In fact, with the looming financial disaster narrowly averted at General Motors (thanks to last minute Government intervention) more than a few of our favorite models by various auto makers may get the cut.

Acadia is GMC’s updated version of their successful Envoy truck. Curvier designs and a sexy interior have caught the eyes of many small truck and crossover enthusiasts, but moderate sales across the board, along with this past summer’s hatred of anything not compact, really hurt GMC’s bottom line. The real question is, can a truck producer stand up to the trying fiscal and green energy demands of today?

The GMC Envoy began as a luxury edition of the GMC Jimmy SUV. In 2002, it became its own mass-produced name in the GMC lineup of cars and has received favorable feedback from GMC fans ever since. This luxury SUV comes in three different trim options and as the 20-inch polished aluminum wheeled, high-end, special edition Envoy Denali.

Whatever trim you choose, you won’t be disappointed. The 285 horsepower 4.2-liter inline-six-cylinder engine on the lower Envoy trims drives with a four-speed automatic transmission. The higher trim Denali gets a 5.3-liter V8 that gets up to 300 horsepower and the same transmission. All trims ride with either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.

The Envoy rides on a 113-inch wheelbase, measuring in at 191.6 inches in length and 71.9 inches in height. This spacious case allows the Envoy an airy interior. The five-passenger capacity has bucket seats in the front that come with an 8-way power-driver seat adjuster, head restraints and storage. The split-folding rear seat can fold down if you need room for extra storage. The Envoy cabin furthers the comfort for the passengers and driver with automatic dual-zone climate control, heated seats, the Quiet Package so you can better listen to the Bose® Premium speaker system, an optional DVD Entertainment system and more!

The driver gets a lot dealt out to them as well. An available Touch-screen Navigation system adds to the already existing Instrumentation panel; this panel features a complete vehicle diagnostic reading with information about driving conditions, maintenance check and a tire pressure monitoring system. To keep this premium package safe, GMC added a passenger sending frontal airbag system and a slew of other insulating airbags in various locations. The electronic stability system, all-disc antilock brakes and one year of OnStar Safe & Sound Plan simply further the Envoy resistance.

The first thing you’ll notice about the Envoy is that the Quiet Package really does its job; you’ll forget you’re driving with the absence of engine and road noise. So turn up the high quality speakers and enjoy the soaring performance of the 2008 GMC Envoy!

GMC graces the automotive market with its Canyon mid-size pickup truck. The 2008 Canyon has increased customization for buyers with regular cab, extended cab and Crew Cab body styles. The three new exterior color options increase this alterability and allow you to tailor your truck to your tastes.

The interior of the truck is relatively the same on all body styles, except there are different seating configurations in each. The regular cabs have a 60/40-split front bench seating and can seat up three. The four-door extended cab body style comes with 2 rear bucket seats and either a 60/40 split-bench seat for the front or 2 bucket seats. The Crew Cab body style has either the 60/40 split-bench seat or the 2-bucket seats available for the front; the 2-bucket seats and a 60/40 split flat-folding backseat for an overall 7-person capacity. Other features you’ll find in the 2008 Canyon include cruise control, a Navigation System with one year of OnStar and an exceptional audio system. Standard safety features include frontal airbags, daytime running lamps, the child-friendly LATCH system, antilock brakes, a tire pressure monitoring system and one year of OnStar Directions & Connections plan. There are optional head-curtain side airbags as well.

Next is what gives the truck its allure—the power that the engine exerts. The Regular body styles and the SLE-1 Extended Cab body styles receive a standard 2.9-liter Vortec engine that has four-cylinders and can produce 185 horsepower. The higher up body styles come standard with a 3.7-liter incline five-cylinder engine that can generate 242 horsepower; this engine is optional on the previous three body styles. All styles of the Canyon can be equipped with either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission. There models are available with either rear or four-wheel drive and when equipped with the proper configuration, can tow up to 5,500 pounds.

The 2008 Canyon is a versatile vehicle and can fulfill the needs of many with its various customization options.

In 2007, GMC entered the crossover SUV market with the Acadia model. MotorWeek deemed the Acadia the “Best Crossover Utility Vehicle of 2007,” and it received the highest possible safety rating of five stars. The changes for 2008 further improve upon this vehicles prestige.

The interior can seat either seven or eight occupants; it all depends on if you opt for the two-passenger captain’s seat second row for a maximum passenger limit of seven or the 60/40-split bench, which increases the max-occupancy to eight. Seven-passenger limit models receive a center console for the second-row. Both rows fold flat, which further increases the Acadia’s already spacious cargo capacity, and there is room for storage beneath the rear cargo floor. Tri-zone automatic climate control is available on the SLE base trim and comes standard on the latter SLT1 and SLT2 trims; cruise control, a “low and away” instrument panel and suitable lighting can be found standard on all trims. The available Navigation system can help you out of tight spots and has a review camera integrated into its system that helps with backing up. Other optional technologies that can be built-in to the Navigation System include a rear-seat DVD player and various Audio System options.

The available engine on all trims is a 3.6-liter V6 that has variable valve timing and dual overhead camshafts. This engine nets the Acadia 275 horsepower and 251 pounds-feet of torque. The engine teams with a six-speed automatic transmission that is electronically controlled with overdrive, and it has either front or all-wheel-drive available. This configuration allows the 2008 Acadia to tow up to 4500 pounds. This handful of power is properly protected of course. Six standard airbags include frontal and side-impact airbags for the driver and front passenger and side curtain airbags for all rows of seating. Other safety features include all-disc antilock brakes, an electronic stability system and a tire pressure monitoring system.

	With the plethora of interior conveniences, performance technologies, entertainment options and safety rating, the 2008 Acadia is a prime candidate for anyone in the market for a new vehicle.
