GMC Expands Hybrid Line: The 2009 Sierra Hybrid
GMC has unveiled another monster hybrid truck for auto buyers looking for power without getting pinched at the pump. At the Chicago auto show GMC premiered the 2009 Sierra Hybrid boasting a 40% City MPG improvement and 25 % overall this vehicle is sure to attract truck enthusiast looking to green up the planet.
This V-8 vehicle is capable of driving up to 30 mph thanks to a electrically variable transmission 300-volt hydride battery system and the capability to operate on a V-4 cylinder-shutdown. Modification were also made to the body of the vehicle to make it more aerodynamic. You can expect to get 500 miles out of one gas fill with the new 2009 Sierra Hybrid. This vehicle will be available in a 2 and 4WD model towards the end of 2008.
